Winter
Shall I compare thee to a winter’s night?
So cold, so soft, filled with crystalline shapes;
Small birds do flap their bright wings in due flight
Too weak to last in your long, icy traipse.
Devoid of colors, so bright and so true
We have left you barren, lover of mine
Skin freezes over and soft lips turn blue
And inside your soul, all warmth starts to die.
Do you long for me? For I long for you.
I wish your permafrost would melt away.
Ghosts light on the branches where birds once flew
With nothing left, can’t convince you to stay.
If I looked in, would your heart be beating?
Or would I see death, and love as its fleeting
