What's Inside
The wolf inside me twitches
Strange, wild and urged
It howls, low and keening
Refusing to be purged
I didn't try to resist
So inside it started to scrape
I gasp, almost whining
And then does it escape
It burns as a fire
Untamed, no control
I fall, weakened
And my eyes started to roll
And when I stood
I was human no more
Skin replaced by fur
And foot by paw
The instinct inside me twitches
Calling me to run
So forward I race, wild and free
A wolf lit by the sun
