Reminiscence
It's been over a year, I still miss you
Your contagious laugh, the way you were bold
The words you made up, the stories you told
People would say you belonged in a zoo.
When I heard, I did not think it was true
You could not be sick, you weren't even old
Nevertheless, here the story unfolds:
You left me and there was nothing I could do.
Although you were taken, you're better there
Because God called you home to be with Him
While the rest of us grow stronger through this.
Even though I can be filled with despair,
I know you're looking down with a huge grin
Letting me know my life is not amiss.
