The Small Bird's Wisdom
Fresh tears carving deep wounds in my rough flesh.
Crushed hope lays numb along with shredded trust.
Gone with links that held together this mesh.
Eyes finally cleared from the specks of dust.
Lived under camouflage of illusion.
With a grasp too loose on fellow’s tether
Clutching belief of utter perfection.
Bathing in heaven, light as a feather.
Though without the love clogging my senses,
The thick fog now granted me room to breathe,
Without being shielded by defenses,
Searching the roots for what’s buried beneath.
The small bird earned wisdom to fly its wings,
And learned that if you touch a bee it stings.
