Count Again
I close my eyes and count to three again,
open them and see the same world as last.
With people telling us we're full of sin,
out lives can never move on from our past.
Will there ever come a day where we're free
from the hate of those surrounding us here?
Can people stop telling us who to be?
Sadly a world like that is far from near.
We truly need to stop using labels,
to stop causing pain to others alike.
We need to learn the thoughts we enable.
Think back to the world when you were a tyke,
and remember this world's your child's home too,
so lets make it the place you wish you knew.
