Murderer
Are you still the child I once knew, my friend?
Romping and wrestling in fields of flower
Or within the grasp of adulthood, end?
Foreign venom your black heart powers
Barbed wire ambition against scarlet sky
At the sight of your murder, white silence rings
Your darkened veins writhe behind frozen eyes
Held underwater until no heartbeat heard,
Your hungry smile is carved of hollow tin
Breath reaching to devour with whispered word
Your sins crawled upon your back and you grin
Are you still innocent, or do you lie?
You strangled the self I considered ‘mine’.
