Winter Discovery
The sweater I left
Out in the cold
Was only the best
The best of you
Couldn’t bear to see it
A sight to behold
Be held, be felt
Cradled anew
Eyes watched from the window
A stranger picked it up
Let out a sigh
Of dragon’s smoke
And much to the amazement
Of my eyes, awestruck
The fabric was torn
The sweater awoke
For everyone watching
Through foggy lids
Watching and waiting
for something new
There was steady disappointment,
But not for me
I always saw
The real garments of you
