Blooming
The writing titled “Blooming,” written by Maria, talks about the hardships in life but later finding hope. Her writing left me feeling shocked. This article is about a 17-year-old girl who is about to graduate high school. In the text it talks about her rough past growing up. I felt that this article was well written and went into descriptive detail. Also, this is a rough topic to write and talk about. In the article “Blooming” it states, “I am raped two weeks after my 15th birthday. I walk home two miles alone, bleeding, and sit on the shower floor for three whole hours, waiting for the flow to staunch.” This piece of evidence is the time in her life when it was dark, and she didn’t have anyone to go to and was alone. The author Maria said, “And I am. Blooming, that is. I can feel the sun on my face.” This quote from the article reveals that after all the bad in her life she finally found hope and a brighter future was awaiting.
