Milk and honey is such a simple book with so many bigger meanings. “she was a rose in the of those who had no intention of keeping her” (13, kaur). This quote is so small with such a big meaning behind it. Milk and Honey is a look through a young women and the pain she was subjected to through poetry. Rupi  Kaur has a very simple style keeping her writing very short she doesn’t use capitalization or punctuation. Kaur talks about person experience that she has had with sexual abuse. She also talks about ways she makes things better with herself after experiencing that. At the end of the book she tells how she began to love and except herself. I feel that this book talks about sensitive subjects and simply drawn pictures to help get her message across. Other book Kaur has written is The sun and Her Flower, this book is very similar to Milk and Honey. These books are very much geared towards young adult and teens.

Over all I think this book is very good and worth a read because it brings you through the life of someone else who maybe experienced the same thing as you. This book is a very easy read which makes it easy to understand fully and be able to relate to you somehow. The feelings are so raw and alive in this book which to me makes it a lot more interesting.
