Wait Till Helen Comes
Number of stars (1 to 5): I would have to give this book a 4.5, because it's good but it could have been great!
Introduction- The book I had chosen to read, Wait Till Helen Comes, took place in Holwell, Maryland around summer time. It is a well written story about a young little girl who, when the family and she move to an old church, she starts talking to a ghost, named Helen! In this book the authors main purpose is to show you how one little girl can change everything! This book to me is an outstanding one.
Description and summary of main points- Wait Till Helen Comes was written by: Mary downing Hahn and published in 1986. - In quite, old Holwell, Maryland, a new couple moves into an old church with a house built onto it. There little girl, Heather, is a little brat to her new step-sister, Molly and her new set-brother, Michael. When they move into the country Heather starts talking to a ghost and make the ghost do bad stuff to her step-brothers and step-sisters room. The ghost trashes everything and then after a while Helen wants heather to go into the deep water with her and…. well you're going to have to read the book to figure out what happens. When you read this book you will find out that a little girl is very confused and worried, because she thinks that she killed her mother. I honestly loved this book I just wish it would have been a little scarier!
Evaluation- I really liked this book. Wait Till Helen Comes is a book that I would read again and for me that is amazing because I am not a big reader. There are some things that I liked about this book. I liked that they used a fictional character. I didn't like that they didn't put more mystery and horror into it. I would probably suggest this book to someone younger than me, but not older. This is because this book doesn't have a lot of mystery or/and horror and teenagers like books like that.
Conclusion- In conclusion this book was over all a very good book!
