Imagine you got teleported to an unusual, dangerous world and all you had was a day's worth of food and water and only a little camping supplies. Well, in the sci-fi survival book, The Transall Saga, Mark was on a solo camping trip and found an unusual blue light which teleported him to an unusual place where the grass and trees are red, and the sky is yellow. Mark has to learn how to survive in Transall, as well as try to find the blue light to get home. Later, he discovers there are many tribes who live in Transall, and their life is war. Mark makes many friends and foes and learns the ways of Transall in this sci-fi survival story.

The Transall Saga is one of my favorite books I’ve ever read. Gary Paulsen made this story very exciting by making up many unusual creatures and tribes which made me want to read more and learn about all of the tribes in Transall. In the story, you also got to go on the whole journey with the dynamic character Mark. Paulsen made me feel what Mark was going through which let me feel the cool experience of surviving.  The way he wrote the book in third person made the story have a good flow. The Transall Saga was like a mix of Narnia and Hatchet which was a good mix. I would recommend this book to every age, especially if you like survival books. The Transall Saga was written by the same author as Hatchet, Brian's Winter, Brian's Hunt, and many other exciting survival books.  Gary Paulsen really nailed this book.
