Restart Book Review

Restart, by Gordon Korman, is a realistic fiction book set in modern times and revolves around a boy named Chase. Chase is a thirteen-year-old boy who loves football and is really good, however, his life changed after he fell off a roof. He was diagnosed with amnesia and soon learns something about himself that troubles. While learning about how he used to be, he decides that he doesn't want to be that person anymore and the amnesia might help him become a better person. This book has many points of view from many different characters and shows how Chase affected every single one of them throughout the book. The conflicts in Restart really pulled the book together.

I really enjoyed Restart and I think Korman did a great job of making the characters really come to life in the story. I felt what the characters were feeling and had empathy for them. I like Korman's style in every chapter. Each chapter is from a different character's perspective. It makes the book more interesting to hear the story of different people and to see their side. Korman did a great job with the small details and development of characters. I really enjoyed reading the book because I was learning life lessons like don’t hold yourself to the past or always trying to be the better you. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a little laugh, a little drama, and a great adventure. I felt many feelings in this book but the love, anger, sadness, joy, betrayal, and happiness. These would be the reasons that I would read it again.
