Dawn
Dawn by Erin Hunter
Dawn is the adventure filled sequel to Moonrise in the new Warriors series by Erin Hunter. It is packed with difficult decisions, changing loyalties, long and grueling journeys, loss of friends, and bonds formed at a high price. Told by young cats on the brink of adulthood, this book explains and delves deep into the confusing feelings growing up brings along with impossible choices.
In Dawn, the theme “loss can only make you stronger” is repeatedly shown in the story through the different cats that lose their lives to save their friends and through the feelings of grief and recovery shown by the cats they left behind.
Like its predecessor, Dawn is a tribute to how a talented writer can weave a tale so life- like and real that even the most uninterested reader can become ensnared in the tail, er, tale.
I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone, especially those of you who have ever wished to leave your human heritage behind and prowl the forest with your fellow cats at heart.
