"Today I don't feel like doing anything. I just wanna lay in my bed." ~ The Lazy Song by Bruno Mars

I have never been a big fan of reading. My teacher told me to find an interesting book to read and write a report about. My first thought is where I am ever going to find an interesting book. I start to look around my house until finally it jumps out at me, Quiet Strength. I love to watch football and to be in that atmosphere so it seemed like the perfect choice. Quiet Strength is the story of former NFL coach Tony Dungy.

Trusting in the Lord is the consistent theme throughout Quiet Strength. Tony experienced many excruciating experiences throughout his life. Even after he was let go from many different promising careers Dungy never gave up or stopped believing. Tony knew that God had a plan for what was going on, even if he could not see it at the time. Mr. Dungy’s life story is consistently filled with perseverance and faith.

In Quiet Strength the reader is guided from Tony’s childhood all the way to a few weeks after he coached the Indianapolis Colts to win Super Bowl XLI. Tony teaches his mother and father’s words of wisdom that have impacted his life. He tells the story of meeting Lauren and sculpting a life and family with her. Of course in addition to his home life, there is seemingly endless information about Tony’s career in playing and coaching football. I recommend Quiet Strength to everyone familiar or unfamiliar with God, because this book shows how the Lord has a plan for everyone. Football fans will also take pleasure in this book due to all of the football stories, plays, and strategy recalled by Dungy. Overall, this is a fantastic book about a pious man whose life was artistically planned by God.

This was originally a long term project assigned by my language arts teacher Ms. Malichi.
But once I started reading and writing this it became fun for me.
