The Chosen One by Carol Lynch Williams
The heat, the sand, the tension. The story of thirteen year old Kyra is one of heartbreak, family betrayal and religion. Imagine, your only company being your three mums, your siblings and your father. Nobody outside your road, no books from the local library, no television and no freedom. Thats how Kyra lives, in a cult in the desert in Texas.
The story goes through Kyras journey of finding out she has to marry an older family member and not her true love, rebelling and leaving the compound to go to the mobile library to read books against her religion and a girls choice to leave her family behind for whats best for herself.
A truely heart wrenching tale for anyone into anything really. Theres an aspect for everyone, adventure, romance, sueprnatural and action.
A real read and a must, get the tissues though.
