Gorilla Beach by Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, is the sequel to to A Shore Thing. The girls, Gia and Bella head back to the Shore for another summer. When they arrive, they see that a lot of things have changed and after a big misunderstanding, the girls are kicked out of Seaside by the Lupo’s, the family that runs Seaside. Fredo Lupo feels like an embarrassment to his family and wants to change, so he invites the girls to go to Atlantic City. As soon as they get there, they begin winning at the casino thanks to Gia’s physic gift. The girls makeover Fredo and he begins to change into a juicehead (man with big muscles) in training. Bella meets a boardwalk artist, while Gia meets a high-stakes poker hottie. Everything is going fine until the casino suspects they are cheating. From there, begin to unravel for the trio.

The genre of the book is humorous-fiction. I enjoyed how the author never had a boring moment, there was always something going on and the events that happen are interesting and will keep you reading. It is a funny novel, so if you enjoy a good laugh then you should consider this book. For example, Gia is kind of a slow character so she doesn’t know what’s going on most of the time and is always making funny comments. It’s also inspired by the show Jersey Shore, so if you enjoy the show, you’ll enjoy the book.

I recommend the book for young adults 15 and older because it does contain adult material. I don’t give the book five stars, only four because it wasn’t the best written book but it wasn’t bad and I enjoyed reading it and don’t regret it. What I really liked about the book was that the author didn’t focus on one character’s point of view. The chapters are short because it shows one event in more than one character’s perspective. I enjoyed this strategy because I got to know the characters better. I really enjoyed both this book for the various reasons mentioned and recommend it.
