Book Information:
Title: Global Warming
Author: Karen E. Bledsoe
Publisher: Perfection Learning Corporation
Date of Publication: 2004
Number of Pages: 48

The Authors purpose in ‘Global Warming’ is to help warn/inform the readers about Global Warming and it’s affects on Earth.
The intended audience is people wanting to learn more about Global Warming.

What is Global Warming doing to this earth? Some main points in this book are:
The Greenhouse Effect & what causes The Greenhouse Effect, Carbon Dioxide and Fossil Fuels, Climate Change, the Effect on Earth with Changing Temperatures, What are Scientist/Corporations/Politicians doing to help out, and Kyoto Protocol.

Karen Bledsoe once said “Global Warming continues to be a hotly debated issue. While it’s really accepted that the earth is getting warmer, scientist continue to disagree about what that really means. Are we causing it, or is it just happening naturally? Is it going to be harmful to our planet, or could it be helpful? What’s in store for us if the earths temperature continues to rise?”

The Authors purposes is to warn/inform readers about Global Warming and how it’s changing Earth.
Karen E. Beldsoe had written a lot of books with science related topics.

This book was based on research and experimentation, example:
There was a picture of a scientist holding a glacial core sample, from which he will measure the Carbon Dioxide level. There were also many graphs, tables, and pictures,

The Author achieved her goal by clearly explaining about Global Warming and the Effects it has on earth.
Studies and research provides her evidence.
The Author did a good job because I clearly got her message on Global Warming.

Other original or possibilities presented are:
The Earth has warmed up about 1 degree F over the past 100 years. Since the last Ice Age the Earth has only warmed up about 5 to 9 degrees. The Earth’s temperature is expected to go up about 3 to 9 degrees over the next 100 years.

What is not so convincing to me is how much the Earth’s temperature has gone up.

Some things that have been left out are how to slow down or stop Global Warming.

This book was very helpful.

This relates to my personal life/school work or popular culture/media because Global Warming is affecting earth and the way we live.

Overall this book is really helpful, it gives us advice on how to slow down Global Warming and what will happen if we don’t try to stop it.
