This story happens the 1770s, during the civil war.
Imagine you’re in a tavern, working, doing what you would do in a tavern. Suddenly, you hear something, horses? May be. Yes, horses, a lot of them.Then you hear something else, more horses? No. guns? Yes! And there’s when you realize, war has come.

My Brother Sam Is Dead is a book full of bravery and most of all, suspense. This book is full of mystery too. It has all kinds of moods and tones that will change dramatically. From happy to scare. From lonely to brave. The characters can change, too. You could tell someone is really shy, and almost nothing compared to other, but then it changes, and you ask how could someone change in one day.

Tim meeker, is a 15 year old boy who lives in a tavern with his family. He likes to work, and do the right thing, he also tries to make people do the right thing, but sometimes it doesn’t work. He seems to be a shy person, someone who wouldn’t kill a fly, but, it just seems. Sam Meeker, Tim’s older brother, everybody says he is very scornful. He doesn’t like when people tell him what to do. But, he still loves his family, he just doing what he does, because he thinks it’s right.

Tim and Sam are kind of the main characters, but every character in the book has credit. In fact, there’s no really one character that takes all the credit. Everybody does, because every one of them is important in the story.


To conclude, this book is a very interesting and catchy book. I don’t think everybody could read it because sometimes it’s hard to understand what they’re talking about. But besides that, it is a really good book.
