The Rocket Boys by Homer Hickam
The Rocket Boys is a very inspiring novel. It is about a young courageous boy who lives in a small coal town in West Virginia. This fictional novel is all about Sonny , his passion to build rockets, and the struggles that come with it. As the story progresses, many obstacles occur, but the boys’ (Sonny, O’Dell, Quinton, Sherman, and Roy Lee) ambition does not let them give up. Sonny faces many personal problems unlike the other boys; after all, he is the son of the mine superintendent. This novel is truly inspiring and full of many heartfelt characters. At times it was a slow pace novel, but it quickly speeded up to keep my attention. The Rocket Boys is a very inspirational novel. One who reads it will find it inspires them to follow their dreams. In the end, this novel consists of, romance, adventure, and perseverance.
