The Outsiders

The Outsiders is a great book. The outsiders tells about two weeks of a 14-year-old boy. The book tells about Ponyboy Curtis struggles in society which makes him think that he is an outsider. Ponyboy lives in the eastside of the town which makes him a greaser. All of the Westside boys are socs a.k.a. socials. They are the rich spoiled punks. Ponyboy lives with his two brothers since his parents died in an accident. The story starts off with Ponyboy walking home from a movie when some socs ride up by him jump out of their car and proceed to fight him. Some of the greasers come upon while he is getting jumped and chases them off. Which sets the mood for this story because now you know that there is going to be a fight between the gangs.

After walking the girl’s home from the movie they went to set in the vacant lot. A few hours later he woke up and it was 2:00am he ran home as quickly as he could. When he got there they got in a fight so ran back got Johnny and went to the park. At the park they ran into more of the socs. Johnny ended up killing one with his knife. So they ran to dally for help he told them to go way up in the mountains by the church and he would be up there in a week. Johnny ended up in the hospital and later on dying. Ponyboy ended up just fine he stay in his brothers care still. Dally ended up getting shot by the cops when he robbed a store.

I think that this was a very good book the author S.E.Hinton wrote this book when she was 16years-old. I wouldn’t have any bad remarks to say about her story I know that she tried her very best on this story. I always recommend a cliffhanger at the end it makes them want to read another one.

In My personal thoughts I thought that the book was okay. I really liked who they all stood up for each other and help them out. This is one book that you will defiantly not want to skip!
