Columbine by Dave Cullen
The book Columbine by Dave Cullen is an amazing book that I would definitely recommend reading. Going to the school that the book is about I found it really interesting to know the history behind it.  I read this book to learn the truth about what really happened on April 20, 1999. There are so many rumors that have been cleared, like the Cassie Bernall story, and who Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold really were. What I enjoyed most about it was that the author did not focus just on the shooting itself, most of the book was evolved around the police work, the life stories of the boys, and how the whole event affected the community. The beginning of the book is pretty gruesome and heartbreaking but as you go on the author does a phenomenal job of explaining the aftermath of the shooting and how this affected people nationwide. Dave Cullen spent 10 years gathering police reports and doing interviews to write this book and making as full as cold hard facts as he could get. I think that Cullen really crossed over the line between a boring non fiction book into a truly eye opening book that you can’t put down. This is one of the best books I have read in a long time, and if you’re interested to learn about this tragedy I would highly recommend giving it a chance.
