                  DO YOU REALLY KNOW COLUMBINE?
“Columbine”, written by Dave Cullen deepened my knowledge of the world-wide known massacre at Columbine High School.  Cullen structured his ideas in a way that made it easy to follow the adventurous scenarios taking place.  I now am familiar on the ‘basement tape’, those who played major roles, the major and ‘minor’ injuries and just about every other myth out there. act or statement.   As the text gets deeper and further along, many come to find most of what ‘We already know’ about Columbine isn't true.  It wasn't targeted towards the jocks, goths or any group particular.  Dave structures his ideas and statistics eventually eventually throughout the book, jumping back and forth from before, during and the aftermath of the shooting, many things of which are still a surprise.  This forces the reader, like myself, to stay engaged in the text to know what happens to not only the school, but the victims, ‘killers’, staff and Columbine itself.  Although it took ten years of processing this book, it resulted as a source with credible facts and information, clearing up any misunderstandings from social media or our peers.  I appreciated how Cullen wasn't biased on any detail, set mind.
April 20th, 1999 left the nation devastated, leaving room for many myths to be spread.  Dave Cullen cleaned up every piece of knowledge or confusion regarding Columbine.  “Good wombs have borne bad sons.”
