Unbroken is an amazing heroic story and I didn’t want to put down my book. It is a must read from Laura Hillenbrand, who did a perfect amount of research on Louie Zamperini.
The book starts off in Torrance, California with a boy named Louie Zamperini. Louie is a bad kid and is brought home by the police all of the time. Louie is a misfit and doesn’t fit in in school around anyone, so he does bad things because he is bored and doesn’t have any friends to hang out with. Pete Louie’s brother doesn’t want Louie getting in any more trouble and tries to get him to join the track team. Louie decides to join the track team after being asked by his brother. Louie begins to get better and better until he is the best and starts winning a lot. Louie gets invited to the Olympics in Berlin but afterwards has to go to war. He gets captured by the Japanese and put in a POW camp.
I liked the book because it has a lot of action in it and suspenseful the whole entire book. Laura Hillenbrand also wrote the book sea biscuit, which I think is not as good as unbroken because I like the type of writing Unbroken is written in. I definitely do encourage you to read this book soon. If you don’t like the book than you should read some different books by Laura Hillenbrand.
The last chapters of Unbroken are very suspenseful in my opinion. If you like books when you are rooting for the protagonist the whole time, I do recommend this book. This book overall has been my favorite book. I also like all of the other books by this author, they all aren’t the same genre so you can get a different variety.
