Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher tells a story of a teenage boy Clay who receives a mysterious box of cassette tapes  with no return address. He begins listening and realizes the tapes were made by Hannah Baker. Hannah committed suicide. The tapes explain the role of 13 people had in Hannah’s death. Since, Clay was listening to the tapes he was one of them. Clay was contemplating just throwing all the tapes away never wanting to see them again. But Hannah threatened she had people watching and if they destroyed those tapes she made copies and she would leak them to everyone. So Clay nervously continued listening to the tapes wondering what he could possibly do to Hannah to deserve to be on these tapes. What Clay finds out may change his life forever.
I really liked this book. I normally do not like reading but the book was so suspenseful it always left me wanting more. In this book I found myself getting attached for the main character and getting nervous for him. I liked how you had both perspectives because you hear Hannah’s opinions  in the tapes ,but then you also hear Clay’s thoughts in the book. If you like dark suspenseful books this a great choice for you.
