Have you ever imagined being trapped in a guy’s house for seven months? A girl experienced a part of her life she wouldn’t forget. In the book, The Cellar, Natasha Preston tells a story about a girl named Summer who was kidnapped by a guy named Clover. Clover renames her Lily, who takes her down to a cellar in his house, where Summer was greeted by three other girls. Clover named the other girls after flowers, to have the perfect family that he wants. Romance and mystery flows throughout the book. Lewis struggles to keep his mind straight, hoping to soon find his beloved Summer. Trapped in a room with no way of escaping and no way of calling for help, the girls try to survive the bloody battles that await in front of them. This book is really good and suspenseful. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, wanting to read more. Preston’s description keeps the scene in motion by using lots of imagery. The reader would be able to imagine what’s going on in the book, such as what Clover is doing to the girls and other women. Preston leaves cliffhangers in each chapter, making the reader more anxious each second wanting to find out what’s going to happen next.
