Eragon is the story of a young adult, written by Christopher Paolini. Eragon lives in a fantasy world, in the mystical country of Alagaesia. There, he must battle monsters, track evil creatures, train his mind and body, and avenge his fallen uncle with Brom, the mysterious magician, and Saphira, the mystical sapphire dragon. This book will grab you and pull you down into the story where you will feel like you are witnessing it in front of your very eyes. The hero of our story is a 15-year-old boy who’s name is Eragon, who gets his food hunting in the cursed Spine. One fateful day he wanders too far and stumbles upon a stone, a weird, weird stone. After a few weeks, the stone is revealed to be an egg. The egg of an endangered dragon. After weeks of hiding, dreaded creatures come and burn down Eragon’s house, and kill Eragon’s uncle. Eragon and his brother Roran, survive, though, they were hurting. The dragon, Saphira, Eragon, and the old storyteller Brom, go out to seek revenge on the evil creatures that killed his uncle.
This book teaches us all to never give up. Throughout the book, Eragon stops at nothing to find the fiends that murdered his beloved uncle as he ventures through Alagaesia. Christopher Paolini does an amazing job expressing this point through vivid imagery. The imagery pulls the reader inside of the book and makes the reader feel as if they are witnessing the events as they happen. I love this because I am a very imaginative person and this book acts as support for my thoughts. If you are this kind of person, you will absolutely love this book.
I love this book because it acts as reinforcement for people with strong imaginations. You will cry. You will laugh. You will grow attached to the characters, but most of all, you will never be able to stop reading. The words Paolini used will move you emotionally. There is power behind words, and Paolini has mastered the art of shaping words to fully extract the power behind them. In my opinion, this is one of the best books you will ever chance upon.
