The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros

The House on Mango Street is a very good book by Sandra Cisneros. I think people should read this book because Esperanza is a young girl that goes through a lot when she is older she wants to live in a house of her own and she does her best to make her dream come true.

The house that Esperanza moved into was on Mango street and it was an improvement for the family because that is the first house that they actually owned for themselves without someone telling them what to do. The book takes place of her living on mango street and Esperanza meets these girls and their names are Rachel and Lucy they are sisters. Esperanza later becomes best friends with Rachel and Lucy.

I personally like the book because it is easy to read and not to complicated to understand. You should read the book and see if you also like it. Esperanza is a very good writer and wants to live her dream by living in a house of her own when she is older and she will do that by doing what she has to  do.

Esperanza meets Rachel and Lucy because Esperanza gives them 5 dollars to buy a bicycle. “This bike is three way ours, says Rachel who is thinking ahead already. Mine today, Lucy's tomorrow and yours the day after.” (Cisneros p.15) .That is how the three girls became best friends.

In conclusion you should read the book and see how you like it. I can not tell you what you like and do not like so you can go see if you like it too. It is a very interesting book and I like it a lot. It is easy to read you can finish it in two days if you are a fast reader. That is all I have for this review.
