Paper Towns by John Green is a fiction book that will keep you wondering just like Quentin the main character does half of the time. Everything adds up to Quentin falling in love with a girl hiding; she could be dead. We don’t know. Quentin is on a mission; that is to find his lover Margo. There are ups and down on the journey but you learn in story of how far he goes to get what he wants no matter the circumstances.

Quentin has had a thing for Margo ever since she’s came into his life. He’s not a very popular person at his school; only has a few friends. While she is the total opposite, he is able to connect with her all in one strange night. When you first see the cover of the book you’ll see what looks like a bunch of red lines. It is a map that looks connected with something which you will need to keep an eye on. What may not to look like a fancy book cover or an interesting one; later in the story it comes to appear that the cover can cause you to think differently about the book with a bunch of thoughts running through your mind, but that’s your job to find out.

John Green got the idea of writing this book by taking a road trip with his girlfriend and coming up upon a town that basically had nothing there, he added that in ten years later when he wrote his first draft of Paper Towns. It was written after his book The Fault in Our Stars which was a hit. He made this book a little bit different than his other ones, making it more funny than serious but you’ll get some of those serious moments here or there but like he said; that was his goal.

The book is very interesting, I was surprised I enjoyed it so much. I ended up giving it a try after reading The Fault in our Stars and I’m glad I did. It will keep you waiting for that big moment, which is exciting because it gives you a thrill just waiting for something more. When you find out what you’ve been waiting for you’ll just expect more to come. Of course you’ll get the why’s and how’s which can put you in a good mood or a bad one. Always stay tuned eventually things will piece itself together and make sense. The book was riveting in my perspective, when you read it it’s almost like you can picture everything happening in your head. You learn more in this book than you’ll ever imagine, mine have always changed throughout this story with the ups and downs but everybody doesn’t all learn the same lesson. With this book it should all be good lessons after you finish reading.
