This book was an action/romance/sci-fi book, a few of the main characters were Maggie Mae Mortensen, Bridger O'Connell, and Ms.Carpenter. The book was kind of cliche and cheesy. A few of the things I liked about the book was that the book was very interesting from the first page and it was really well described, so you can really picture what they look like and what’s going on.But one of the things that I didn’t like about the book was the characters, mainly Bridger O'Connell ,a shallow, faithless boy that I don’t think deserved Maggie Mae. For the greater part of the story he's either ignoring poor Maggie Mae or leading her on(even if it was because of his family), and then , when he finally does profess his undying love for the girl he turns around and shoots her ”’That was the first time I admitted to myself that I was truly helplessly in love with you”’(Wiggins 326). But what made me dislike the both of them was the fact that she forgave him after that… why would you forgive a guy that shot you ,even if it wasn’t to kill. But he even had the nerve to lie to Maggie Mae and say that he protected his side chick from the “wild animals”, but he was at graduation and he wasn’t even anywhere near his side chick when she got attacked”’ Bridger wasn't there. He was at graduation.Or maybe he was out with his French girlfriend’”(Wiggins 261).

Truly, parts of it weren't half bad, like when he was protecting her from people throwing chile at her, and when they would go out early in the morning and go on bike rides. I also liked the cover, it really portrayed the book nicely. I will definitely be trying that out in the very near future-minus the snake-but I digress. But even though I don’t particularly like the characters, if you are looking for a good action/adult romance book. There is some language and scenes that might be inappropriate for children under the age of 13. I would recommend this book to both genders because the book is mainly action/romance, so it really just depends on what genre of book you are interested in.
