Suicide Squad is a revolutionary superhero movie and is the first to have a movie revolve around a team of super villains. It takes place after the events of Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, and because Superman isn't able to save the world from other super-powered beings, Amanda Waller believes that the United States needs to begin recruiting and enlisting meta-humans of their very own. She believes that other governments are already doing this, and if they don't, they will be at a disadvantage for all future wars and all future disagreements. Amanda makes the argument that if the next Superman is a terrorist, what would the United States do then? She then proposes Task Force X, which is essentially a plan to get locked up criminals do work for the government in return for less years in jail. 

 After a crazy slew of events that involve the unleashing of a far superior power, Amanda's plan gets put into action. She goes with Rick Flag, who happens to be one of the top soldiers in the entire army, and together they build a team of some of the most talented super villains. The team consists of Deadshot, a notorious hitman who never misses, Harley Quinn, the famous lover of the Joker, Killer Croc, who is essentially a human crocodile, Captain Boomerang, the famous bank robber who is one of the Flash's main rogues, El Diablo, who can create fire and use it for massive destruction, and Slipknot, who is the world's best climber. These group members are injected with shots inside of their head and grenades are put into their head. The grenades can be controlled from a single phone and can blow up any of their heads with a click of a button. The villains are then sent out with Rick Flag and Katanna, a master female swordsman, in order to carry out their mission, which feels more like a suicide one than a heroic one. Meanwhile, the Joker has plans of his very own that he will stop at nothing to carry out. 

 The movie is action-packed to the brim, and things are quickly jump started furiously. The characters are quickly introduced, and although most of them aren't given that much time to be given backstory, audiences quickly get adjusted to them. The middle is fairly good and showcases the true grit of the villains, as well as how their minds work and think. The ending to the movie has a few thrilling twists and turns that are well done and help to add some intenstiy and suspese to the movie. There are vividly outstanding visual effects throughout, and the superb special effects are crucial for carrying out the epic battle scenes. 

 As great as the movie is for avid DC-comic fans and superhero loves, the movie could be considered slightly confusing and overwhelming for others. Because this is the first movie involving almost all of the characters, people unfamiliar with the villains could easily be lost amongst all of them. The actual villain in the movie is horribly mediocre, and there really isn't that much of her. In fact, if there were less of the super villain, things would go much more smoothly and the movie would have been much more of a triumph. The villain is only good for making the heroes shine even more, but because she is used so infrequently, she barely adds anything to the entire movie. 

 With that said, the villain does manage to cause some heart-warming and heart-breaking scenes, which is a plus. The entire movie has an intriguing science fiction-esque to it, which helps to bring out the inner greatness of the super villains. Deadshot and Harley Quinn are depicted brilliantly, and this is probably because their two actors are some truly talented ones. Will Smith is fantastic as Deadshot and does the super villain justice, as well as give viewers a main character to root for. Margot Robbie brings out the inner craziness of Harley Quinn, as well as demonstrate why people have come to fall in love with the character even though she's a fairly new one, seeing as she was created in the 1990s. 

 The plot is fairly basic, but throughout the movie, there are a few perfectly timed quotes and witty one-liners, which is a must need for Suicide Squad to ensure that the tone doesn't become too dark. The movie certainly isn't perfect-it has more than enough flaws-but it is really entertaining. There is great background music throughout, and this music helps to make most of the movie's scenes shine even more.

 Although the movie is enjoyable and satisfies some hard-core fans needs, critics weren't entirely pleased. Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a horrific 28%, which is just really terrible. Metacritic gave the movie an also poor 40%, which is a little better but not much. However, 85% of Google users liked the movie, which is a fairly good score but helps to showcase how the movie was somewhat of a hit with viewers, even though critics constantly bash the movie. Suicide Squad certainly isn't perfect, but it is absolutely worth watching for just about anyone and everyone, as long as they aren't hoping for an award-winning movie.
