Rocky
Rocky is the classic American movie that revolves around Rocky Balboa. Rocky is small-time boxer from Philadelphia who enjoys going to the pet store, talking with the woman who works there, taking care of his turtles, and, of course, being in the ring boxing. When the reigning world champion boxer of the world is out into a difficult decision when the person he was originally supposed to face gets injured, and because there isn't a planned backup in case of a scheduled opponent not being able to fight, Apollo Creed, the champion, comes up with the plan to invite a regional boxer and have him fight against himself, in order to help support the American dream. Because Apollo believes that fans will love the entire idea of having some low-level boxer be able to fight the very best of the best, he thinks it will help to become a big deal as well as help everybody make more money, including the lucky boxer who gets picked. Apollo eventually settles on Rocky to fight him, after discovering him as his nickname, "The Italian Stallion," due to his heritage, and because Italians helped to discover America, Creed finds it very fitting that an Italian should be given a chance to fight for the American dream. Although Rocky is hesitant to fight at first, when he's told that it is the opportunity of a lifetime and that its a chance to win the boxing championship, the Italian Stallion is hooked. However, surviving a fight with one of the world's best, if not the best, is no easy task, so Rocky begins training with Mickey Goldmill, a former competitive fighter who has more than fifty years worth of experience of both fighting and training others. Meanwhile, Rocky begins to hang out with Adrian, the woman who works at Rocky's favorite pet shop and is also the sister of, Paulie, Rocky's meat-packing friend. As the entire world and the odds face against Rocky, he does his best to rise up to the occasion.
Where to start? Rocky is a true classic that has just about everything. There's the iconic music that everyone has come to know, the enticing tale about underdogs trying to overcome obstacles, and a boxing match for the ages. The brilliant beginning does everything right and immediately allows viewers to want to root for Rocky, as well as gain some insight into his personality. The middle of the movie is marvelous and progresses things nicely and sets up the highly awaited end. The ending of the movie is entertaining, excellent, and just captures everything that the rest of the movie tried to set up.
Although the visual effects of the movie aren't the greatest, per say, because the movie was made over 40 years ago, the special effects aren't really needed, and Rocky doesn't hurt from the lack of modern-day vividness. There is a tremendous amount of character development in the movie, which does nothing but help to add to the intensity and suspense that the movie creates all too well.
Not only was/is Rocky an enormous hit with viewers, but it was also critically acclaimed. Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie an impressive 93%, and IMDb gave the movie a 8.1/10. An outstanding 92% of Google users liked the movie, showcasing how a wide variety of different groups of people all felt the same about the movie: it's a triumphant success. The movie is absolutely worth the time to watch for just about anyone and everyone, and the movie is going to shatter any and all previous expectations. Rocky is considered by many to be one of the greatest movies of all time, and for those who haven't already seen it, it's time to learn why.

"Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done." - Rocky Balboa
