The Bee Movie
Humor is important for any animated movie. It keeps people entertained and will make them want to watch it. The Bee Movie is a perfect example of an overall funny movie, sure to make anyone laugh. The humor of this movie pulls you in from the start. The first line of the movie starts with a bee choosing to wear black or yellow, or yellow or black. This type of humor is funny to both kids and adults.
This movie is very enjoyable for everyone watching. It shows what goes on in a beehive and shows high tech machines that help produce the honey, which is very amusing to see the directors view on what he wants to see happen in a hive. Some more examples of this are when someone asks the mosquito, which is played by Chris Rock, if he was a lawyer. To which the mosquito answered “I was already a blood sucking parasite. All I needed was a briefcase.” This is a joke that would go over any kids head, but the adults watching would immediately understand the joke. There are more of these jokes throughout the film, which makes this movie enjoyable for not only kids, but also adults.
Barry is your average worker bee, played by the hilarious Jerry Seinfeld. He just finished college and is on his way to be doing the same thing for the rest of his life. He is reluctant to start working and his dream is to become a Pollen Jock, whose job is to collect pollen from the outside world. So he tries it out. It doesn’t go as planned and he gets lost in a rainstorm the moment he leaves. Now he must try to get back to his hive; however, on his way back to the hive he sees the most horrible scene that makes him sue the human race.
Themes are important to any kids movie, or movie in general. They make kids inadvertently learn important life lessons. An important theme I noticed while watching this movie is working together. Everyone must work together to get what they want. Barry must work with a human, a completely different species than him, in order to solve a problem.
Perhaps the best part of this movie is all of the clever characters he meets on his adventure to try to get back to his hive. First, he meets a human named Vanessa and she helps him with a very important task, after she finds out he can talk, which breaks a very important rule in the bee community. Another amusing scene done by Jerry Seinfeld and Renée Zellweger, which involves a good amount of comedy.
Barry is very well played by Jerry Seinfeld. His voice emphasizes the humor of every joke and they always seem effortless because that is the way his personality is. He was also part of the writing of the movie. So some of the words said by Barry was wrote by Seinfeld and are jokes he believes are funny. This adds to the authenticity of the film.
I only wish at the beginning of the movie it did not start with a black screen and white lettering saying that bees should not physically be able to fly. I feel like this scene is irrelevant and does not really add to the movie. It may have been there for comedic effect, but this did not work for me.
I really enjoyed watching this and I believe it should a movie anyone, no matter what age, should watch. It was comedic the whole time and gave fun and easy to understand jokes and references that most people enjoy. Also, The Bee Movie had important themes that all kids should understand.

I saw this movie when I was a little kid and I fell in love with it. Now when I watched this movie again I felt like this review was important to do.
