Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a true classic that should be seen by everyone, since it is nothing short of a masterpiece. The movie revolves around a little boy named Charlie Bucket. Charlie comes from a poor family, and he lives with his parents and four grandparents in a small house that only has three rooms. Charlie loves a nearby chocolate factory that produces the best candy in the world. For Charlie, the best present in the world is receiving a chocolate bar that was made by Willy Wonka, who's the owner of the chocolate factory. However, because his family doesn't have that much money, Charlie's family can't really afford to buy him too many. Even though Charlie's dreams can't all be made into a reality, the perfect opportunity arises. Willy Wonka announces that he has placed five golden tickets across all of his chocolate bars in the world, and that whoever receives the ticket gets to go receive a tour of the chocolate factory. Nobody has been in the chocolate factory for years, and no one has seen Willy Wonka in roughly the same amount of time. Across the world, various kids find the magical chocolate bars, and for Charlie, being able to buy the ticket would be the opportunity for a lifetime and help make all of his dreams come true. However, all of the other kids in the world benefit from coming from wealthy families that can afford to buy hundreds of chocolate bars whereas Charlie's family can only afford to buy one. Even though the whole idea of being able to go to the coolest chocolate factory in the world seems to good to be true, the odds of finding a golden ticket are low, and Charlie's dreams may never come true.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory manages to be an entertaining roller coaster that never ceases to amaze. There are so many unique concepts that are presented in the movie that are basically unparalleled. The whole idea of the "Oompa Loompas" is quite intriguing and helps to make the movie feel so much more magical and creative. The beginning of the movie brilliantly sets up the rest of what follows, and because the movie starts off on a darker and more depressing note, audiences immediately know that this isn't going to be the most typical children's movie and is going to be so much more meaningful. The middle of the movie progresses things along superbly, and as the movie gets further into the story, the movie actually gets that much more enticing. The ending of the movie proves to be heartwarming, clever, and ties up all loose knots in a manner that is sure to surprise. Even though the movie doesn't have many thrilling twists or turns, the ones that it does have are capable of shocking even the most experienced of movie-goers.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory benefits tremendously from having some truly noteworthy visuals. The vivid visual effects of the movie are a major reason for why all of the candies in the movie are able to come to life even more, and they help in making the chocolate factory seem that much more grand and surrealistic, especially considering that the movie was made in the 1970s, so the way that all of the cool features are presented helps to prove why the movie was way ahead of its time. Secondly, the actual dialogue of the movie is pretty entertaining to watch. Willy Wonka uses many different vocabulary words that seem to be made up, and this helps in making the movie have more fantasy-like qualities.

Although Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory has a talented cast that is able to do a fantastic job of transforming into their roles, including some breakout performances from Peter Ostrum as Charlie Bucket and Jack Albertson as Grandpa Joe, the real star of the movie is Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. He makes Willy Wonka an eccentric, extravagant, flamboyant genius that loves hyperboles and making children happy through chocolate. Gene Wilder is able to pack emotion and intensity into the movie that all help in making Willy Wonka the complex character with so many different depths that he truly is.

Not only is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory a fan-favorite for many, but the movie is also highly regarded by critics. Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie an exceptional 91%, and IMDb gave the movie a solid 7.8/10, which is actually a lot more impressive than it seems. Furthermore, an outstanding 92% of Google users liked the movie, demonstrating that just about anyone and everyone was able to find satisfaction with movie, cementing that the movie is a good fit for a wide variety of audiences.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is a magnificent film that showcases the power of having dreams, brings the process of making chocolate to life even more so in a magical manner, and is absolutely a must-see, because it will surpass any and all expectations. For those who have not yet seen it, it is time to watch one of the greatest movies of all time.
