The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a classic Disney animation that acts as a recreation of Victor Hugo's novel of the same name. The movie revolves around Quasimodo, a disfigured man that acts as a bell-ringer in the towers of the famous church of Notre Dame. Locked away from the rest of the world by his master, the sinister Frollo, Quasimodo longs to be like everybody else and just be normal, but his master won't allow him to do simple and ordinary things, like attending a famous festival. Because he has no one else to talk to, Quasimodo mostly spends his time talking with the gargoyles of the church, who come alive when no one else is looking, but this doesn't change Quasimodo from wishing to have interaction with other humans and being somewhat miserable and isolated. However, this leads to Quasimodo finally gaining his chance to meet other people, when he chooses to sneak out of the tower and got to the Festival of Fools without permission from Frollo. Although things don't go as smoothly as intended or hoped, Quasimodo ends up meeting Gypsy Esmeralda, an inspiring and enchanting woman full of passion and determination at accomplishing her goals. As tough as any male soldier, and as brave and bold as any king, she soon makes a positive impression on Quasimodo, who meets her at the festival, but in doing so, she ends up on Frollo's bad side. This results in Frollo, Quasimodo's guardian, to have his attention captivated towards her, and he is wiling to do whatever it takes to take down the young woman, all because she's a gypsy. However, Quasimodo sees the opportunity to protect the beautiful Esmeralda from Frollo's clutches, and finally sees a chance to interact with the outside world. 
 

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a captivating and charming classic that combines together all of the best in Disney movies to create a truly enjoyable adventure. While the movie may be intended for kids, there are plenty of dark and serious concepts that will be sure to make the movie that much much more substantial and meaningful for many. The movie explores what it means to be human, because even though Quasimodo is disfigured and not everyone sees the beauty in him, Frollo is still the bigger monster. Additionally, the dramatic and intense storyline shouldn't be that surprising, especially considering the immense amount of gothic influence on the plot. 

 The Hunchback of Notre Dame isn't only visually stunning, but it is also a musical masterpiece. Rich with the talented and sophisticated animators that Disney has become famous for, the movie is able to flesh out and bring to life all of its concepts, whether how daunting or fantastical. Talking gargoyles look realistic, and the brilliant architecture of Paris, and especially Notre Dame, is showcased, allowing audiences to be transported to the historic city. Furthermore, the marvelous music that goes along with the story helps to set the tone and pour emotion into the movie. When drama is needed, dramatic music is played, and this helps to make this film that much more emotionally engaging and immersive. 

 The Hunchback of Notre Dame is an absolute classic, and for good reason. With a majestic story, a magnificent plot, and charismatic characters that standout for their ability to represent several different groups of people, this movie is a great fit for just about anyone and everyone. Quasimodo is symbolic of an outcast, and for that, the movie is able to appeal to audiences with his story arc of learning to accept himself for who he is. Without a doubt, this is definitely a must-see.
