Slumdog Millionaire
Dev Patel plays Jamal Malik in this movie based on Q & A by Vikas Swarup. “Slumdog Millionaire” is set and filmed in India. Patel's character, Malik, is a boy who grew up in the slums of Mumbai who appears on the Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire. This young man exceeds the expectations of the audience and everyone else watching from home. This raises suspicions of the host, the only man to win on the show, and law officials. Thus, they throw him in prison and try to find out how he cheated through the game. However, Malik has legitimate reasons for how he knew all of the answers thus far in the game. “Slumdog Millionaire” takes you through the trials and tribulations of a child living in the slums of Mumbai, making you realize how tough it is to survive in a third world country. However, it ends positively and leaves you smiling gleefully.
