Love and Basketball
Love & Basketball is a 2000 romantic drama film, written and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. This film stars Omar Epps and Sanaa Lathan. Love and Basketball is a romantic, heartfelt movie about best friends who fall in love and later become lovers. The couple is faced with many problems in their life, but still manages to keep a strong relationship with one another. It shows how you either love basketball or are in love. It is either one or the other AND you ARE FORCED TO CHOOSE. It starts off with two African-American kids who are anxious to be in a relationship. They start off being “girlfriend” and “boyfriend,” but then breakup because both of them want control over the relationship. As they grow up into mature adults, they realize that life isn't the same without each other. This was a great movie and I recommend it to everyone to watch. I swear I can watch this movie over and over. The simple romance is kind of touching.
