Growing up, I , along with many other children watched Toy Story. It came out in 1995 and was the first movie to have computer animated graphics, which explains the glitchy nature of it. Also, something I noticed that bothered me was that the lips of the characters don’t match up with the dialog. (That’s something that once you see it you can’t un-see it.) This movie changed animated movies forever. Nowadays obviously the animation is better but they all started with the first Toy Story movie. So with that said, I’m going to move on to what the movie is actually about. The movie is set in a suburban neighborhood, with no specification as to exactly where. There is a boy named Andy. He, like any other child before the technology era, loved playing with his toys and using his imagination to create his own entertainment. I found the movie bringing me back to my own childhood when he was talking to himself, sitting in the middle of the floor, with his favorite toy, Woody. But, Woody is soon replaced with a new and improved toy, the space ranger Buzz Lightyear. Buzz isn’t aware of the fact that he is a toy but all of the other toys think he’s amazing anyway, causing jealousy to grow inside of Woody. Especially after Buzz becomes Andy’s favorite toy. Woody’s plan to push Buzz to behind the desk backfires as Buzz gets pushed out the window instead. With only Woody to blame the whole group of toys now think Woody is a murderer. But, soon after Woody joins Buzz as a lost toy, and are left to rest of the movie to team up and get back home before Andy moves. As a child I loved this movie. It sparked my imagination. Such as when I lost a toy, I would just say that it ran away, but it will come back. Even now, I still enjoy watching this movie because some of the jokes made are for an older audience which most Disney-Pixar movies do so that they are enjoyable for many ages. The story is easy to follow but includes twists and turns to keep it interesting. I would highly recommend this movie for all ages because it is fun and has things about it that appeal to many different people. Even after all the times I’ve watched it Toy Story is a fun and easy film that will always be a classic children’s movie that changed the way we animate movies.
