This album was Billie’s turning point in music. Before, her music was, you could say, normal. This album was released and it was so contradictory of the songs she has sang before.

Billie started to get real deep in her songs. Some about herself and others having deep meanings. She really thinks about her songs. One of her deepest songs, Bellyache; She has said “Bellyache is a flat-out song about murder. We have a bunch of songs like that: crazy stories about these fictional situations. We like to write about stuff  we're going through and things that people relate to, but it's also really fun to put on a character and act a certain way. That character in the song isn't me- but it also is. The song is really about doing terrible things and not really knowing why. We have this whole idea about it- like, you're doing these terrible things and you’re like, ‘Wait, what am I doing? Why did I just do that? Where is my mind? Maybe it's in the gutter!’” The song was personal but also people could relate to it also.

Billie, although very famous, is only 18 years old. Her song Ocean Eyes was the first song she ever posted to youtube. She became very successful very easily. ‘When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go?’ was Billies very first album. It includes Bad Guy, Wish You Were Gay, ilomilo, Xanny, When The Partys Over, Listen Before I Go, You Should See Me In A Crown, My Strange Addiction, I Love You, All The Good Girls Go To Hell, Bury A Friend, and Goodbye. You can listen to this album by looking her up on youtube.

She may seem weird, even scary but she is an amazing person. She has said to Gayle King “I just grab them by the shoulders and I’m like, ‘Please take care of yourself and be good to yourself and be nice to yourself. Don’t take that extra step and hurt yourself further'” This album describes Billie so well. This album is an attention grabber, being so different from most music. Billie is a very interesting person but I suggest you give her album a chance. The more you listen the more you get dragged in.
