In a show where aliens do not try to destroy earth but use their advanced technology to bring havoc to a small suburban town. If you are looking for a new comedy Sci Fi show to watch, Solar Opposite will take you on a joyride with a family of aliens on earth that are constantly using their technological advances, spaceship and weapons to human life and adding their twists and turns. Solar Opposite follows a family of aliens that crash landed onto earth, forced to leave their home planet Shlorp from a catastrophic asteroid collision.

In the first episode “The Matter Transfer” we are set with the plot of the whole season, and discover why the solar opposite family isn’t your ordinary aliens. Kirov and Terry, the leaders of the group, are surprisingly aroused by a furry lion character on Tv and proceed to revive it, so they can go on fun adventures. On the other hand Yumyulack and Jesse attend High School and try their best to fit in with the society of young people but are constantly bullied and hated by the students and teachers. As Jesse tries to make friends and be a normal young girl, she soon realizes that it would never happen because of her brother Yumyulack; continuously shrinking down people to be able to “study the human condition.” As the season progresses we are constantly taken on a different adventure with unexpected outcomes. The family of aliens somehow mess with elections, parties, buildings and human life causing chaos in their small town and neighborhoods.

As if the weird Sci-Fi was enough we are hit with parallel storylines, one of them known as the “The Wall.” Humans imprisoned in the wall of Jesse and Yumyulack by his ray gun. The plot of the alternate story is set in the first season with the introduction of the Duke the leader of the wall and two crucial characters Cherie and Tim. The multiple adventures with Terry, Korvo, Jesse, and Yumyulack will sometimes make you laugh because of the dark humor or the references made to certain people, brands or events in the real world. As the season progresses Korvo tries his best to accomplish his ambition to leave earth as soon as possible but has to deal with the problem of the family or even deal with the problems he started and together go on adventures and resolve the Sci Fi problems they started.

When choosing my review I was indecisive on the thing I was going to review. I started to write something I thought was on the prompt, but I clearly didn’t look at the prompt so I wrote about 400 words on a review totally different. When I asked my teacher for advice for my piece of writing she told me that the review was on a totally different topic. At that moment my teacher told me that I wasn’t following the prompt. My train of thought changed from the information about my review I wrote to a TV show called Solar Opposite. I don’t know why the first thing that came to mind was Solar Opposite but it helped me write about a topic that was related to the prompt. Solar Opposite has been a show I have been watching for the past year or so, but as a Hulu Original it is a great show to watch if you are into Rick and Morty.
