The Muppets
Many had high expectations for the Muppets return to the small screen. The old show The Muppet Show ended in 1981, since then they have made a few movies throughout the years; the most recent being Muppets Most Wanted in 2014. ABC has now taken on The Muppets and made a new TV series, The Muppets. Most would say that the new show resembles The Office in many ways. Kermit the frog and Miss Piggy have returned with their relationship troubles (even though they aren’t together anymore).
Steve Whitmire has been doing the voice of Kermit the frog since Jim Henson passed away in 1990. He always aspired to be a puppeteer, gaining the nickname Kermit in his youth. It’s funny that he turned out to become the voice of Kermit the frog though because he shares the same birthday, September 24th, as the infamous creator, Jim Henson.
Eric Jacobson does the voices of the spectacular Miss Piggy, humorous Fozzie Bear, and maniacal Animal. Those three characters are all very different, but provide a life to the show that keeps it well-balanced. He does a wonderful job at all three of the voices and gives each one there own sparkle when filming.
Randall Einhorn was the director for this new series. He has done a good job at putting the story together. He also directed The Office, which helps him because this new show is very much like The Office.
The set of the show is at Miss Piggy’s show, Up Late with Miss Piggy. The show is like any other late night show with interviews. Kermit is the manager/director of the show, Animal and his psychedelic band is the band that does the music for the show, Fozzie Bear tells the jokes and is the co-star of the show, and everyone else helps to keep the show running.
