Steve Jobs: An Innovator and Entrepreneur
Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple Inc, was a visionary entrepreneur whose footprints in the world of technology and design can never be wiped off. His life is a proof of the enormous potential of tireless innovation, ingenuity and the quest for perfection.
Steve Jobs was born on February 24 1955 in San Francisco, California; he had a difficult upbringing. He dropped out of college, but still he followed his dream of technology, in 1976 he founded Apple Computer, Inc. along with Steve Wozniak and Ronald Wayne. Apple I and II changed the PC industry.
Among the most important achievements of Jobs was the launch of the Macintosh in 1984 with the famous “ Super Bowl commercial “1984”. The Macintosh brought the GUI and the mouse and revolutionized the computer-human interface. After being fired from Apple in 1985, he established NeXT Computer and Pixar Animation Studios. The former became a huge success with films such as Toy Story and Finding Nemo demonstrate the fact that Jobs knew how to stand his ground out of the tech world.
The return of Jobs to Apple in 1997 was a triumphant one which opened the era of innovation. He brought to market products that became cultural idols, the iMac, the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad. Through his stewardship, Apple changed from a loss making firm to a world class and influential global tech giant.
Jobs’s obsessive focus on design and usability separated Apple from others. He once said: Design is not only about aesthetics and visual appeal. Design is about functionality, about how it works. This design philosophy is evident in Apple products that are minimalist, intuitive and aesthetically pleasing.
Apart from his technological feat, Steve Jobs personifies the culture of enduring and defiance. His fight against neuroendocrine tumour, a very rare form of Pancreatic Cancer was widely publicized. All the time he was struggling with his health, he kept innovating and inspiring.
Steve Jobs’ life, in my view, has a few significant lessons to teach us. First of all, he demonstrated the importance of chase after power and vision ceaselessly, even in spite of torment. By doing this he proved that development is not just about producing goods but about producing experiences that resonate with people on a deep level. His impact on the world of innovation and design will continue to reverberate for decades to come.
Steve Occupations was a mechanical visionary but also an embodiment of hope, creativity, and the thirst for excellence. All those who aspire to set new benchmarks for innovation and leave an indelible mark should be inspired by him and his feats. Steve Occupations will forever be remembered as a true pioneer of this century.
