Crossing The Border
Moon shines down upon us
Water sparkles below
Wind whistles by our ears
Just missing our faces
We’ve gotten so close
Gone through so much
Escaped
So far
Must continue for
Fear of stopping and
Potentially
Getting caught
Near to our
Destination
Caution lies forgotten
On the dirt path
Pass the border
Want to let out
Feelings
But don’t
Turning around
And
Calling you into the safety
Of the shadows
You come
Closer
To me, reaching out
And they come
They come
And take you away
Want to scream,
But don’t
Only watch
As you are lost to me
forever
