Releasing the deep breath
That I held in for too long
Here we go again.
Hi Grandma!
Does she remember me?
She’s talking nonsense again
My mind drifts
Baking together
Ingredients laid out hours before
Always some form of cheesecake
It’s our favorite
My friends and I sleeping over
She’d wake us up early
She had the table set
Breakfast was made
Bacon was burnt
Birds, gardening, coloring pictures
And I’m back
Does she remember any of this?
