Depression
A shadow that hovers,
Like a dark cloud,
Tainting the air,
Poisoning my blood.
Dark thoughts that pass,
Through my aching heart,
Tears once crimson have washed away,
Revealing a wound that won't heal.
As the moon offers its light,
I hold my breath and hope,
That the shadow will ease away,
Leaving only light to wash over my soul.
