The Moments Flee
These moments flee of which I cannot grasp,
Years pass and not a memory is kept,
My mind takes revolt and all is beswept
Before chance is made for me to them clasp.
How the experience of life is lost
Among the swirling colors that them change,
While in total they lie in disarrange
And the connection of emotion: toss'd.
Pleasant times passed with company now gone,
Along with sunlit beach of foreign sands;
I noticed not when they slipped through my hands
And into the yellow of new sun's dawn.
Although one would suppose I am distraught,
Some of these memories are best forgot.
