Shot and Heartbroken
His view:
Terrified, he knelt down on one knee,
Never thinking that this is how it would be,
Watching the blood spread across the floor,
Hearing whispers of goodbye for forever more,
A trace of a tear sliding down his face,
Staining his shirt in the same moistened place,
His hands and legs couldn’t halt their tremble,
Beauty and courage is what she resembled,
Now he stares into her half lifeless, blue eyes,
Making a memory as she painfully dies,
Realizing it was she, who he had shot,
“Don’t go,” he cries, “you’re all that I’ve got”
Slowly he intertwines with her cold fingers,
Her voice in his head will always linger,
What’s left of her has started to fade,
Marking completion of the biggest mistake he made.
Her view:
I was told love was like a fairytale,
But my heart was broken, becoming so frail,
He is leaning at my side as I slip away,
There were so many things I wish I could say,
I wonder to myself if this was what he meant to do,
But now he whimpers the words, “I love you,”
There’s a whole in my stomach, but a bigger one in my heart,
I thought what we had was a special piece of art,
Blood is rushing from the bullet hole,
I’ll miss you and my life that you stole,
So this torture is where our life together has led,
To a hole in my heart, and the gunshot pounding in my head
