the deed

the deed is done,
you broke my heart,
the day had to come,
we knew it from the start,
my love you pushed aside,
when you left,
that day I cried,
thinking about the day we met,
the action can't be undone,
the time you can't turn back,
when I watched the setting sun,
I thought of your love that I now lack,
I know that it is time,
to forget about you,
hoping that I'll be fine,
and find someone new,
the deed is done,
you broke my heart,
the day had to come,
we knew it from the start.

This reminds me quite a bit of my early style. I get the compaisons and similes, just be extremely wary of cliches.
