House
Scratches mark the hallowed halls
Red and bloody stained
Doors creak at their hinges
Bulbous, purple veined
There is something lurking
In the shadows of this house
A monster struggling and wanting
To someday hobble out
Rooms have peeling paper
Slowly curling at its brim
Appears as though it’s rotting
Gaunt and wafer-thin
The house it shrieks in agony
Oh feel it, how it quakes
As the monster calmly wanders
Damage in its wake
The monster doesn’t realize
The trail it leaves behind
Destruction and misery
Don’t enter through its mind
All it wants is something
It cannot obtain
Searching for an exit
Its efforts are in vain
