As I put on these boots I put on a new face
Everything I’ve been through just seems to fade away.
All the lies I’ve told and the secrets I’ve kept
Don’t mean anything as the laces connect.
As I tie these laces I tie myself together
A stranger to myself but a best friend to others
The leather on these boots becomes my new skin
I transform myself, I won’t let them in
Everything I am is a secret to all
The brand of these boots now a scar on my soul
These boots are worn out
They're showing their age
After 15 years
I’m turning the page.
