Ignorance (is it bliss?)
They say ignorance is bliss...
Like a pool of calm, silent water
Where a swimmer feels at peace
Not a care in the world...
Bliss they say?
Well, I find it annoying
To stand by that pool
and watch the swimmer slowly drown
I try to reach out
but my hand just hangs, unoticed
Just a fuzzy patch of light in their unfocused world
They have no clue what's happening to them
But their friends do
And all we can do is stand by that damn pool with our hands outstretched
Waiting to be noticed
